Photo by Kristin Fintel, InnkeeperOn the first Friday of each month, the shops, wine tasting rooms and other local businesses in downtown Newberg, Oregon stay open late, welcoming locals and visitors alike for the First Friday ARTwalk.  Strolling around the downtown area you will find a wide array of cultural choices.  At least five of the downtown wine tasting rooms stay open late for First Friday, and if you need more variety, most of the participating businesses also host tastings from local wineries.  Art galleries, the chamber and local businesses also host artists, as diverse as photographer Brenda Sommes, to wood sculpture from Ron Moist to art from the local CS Lewis Academy students.  For those with kids, or kids at heart, a visit to all the critters at Critter Cabana should definitely be on the list. Most of the stops along ARTwalk are in walking distance of each other, but the Trolley also picks up at three locations to zip you around all evening from 5-9, including stops near SubTerra and Recipe, both restaurants which are open for ARTwalk.  With more than 27 participating business, everyone is bound to find something to appreciate.

Chehalem Ridge Bed and Breakfast, perched on eight acres atop Chehalem Mountain overlooking Oregon's Willamette Valley and Coast Range, offers peaceful Oregon Wine Country Lodging between adventures in the valley below.  Furnished with queen beds, private baths and individual heating and cooling, each room is decorated to highlight a unique aspect of Oregon.
