The breweries of Oregon produce brews known around the world for their quality and innovation. Today I focus on those in Hood River and the Valley that stretches to the foothills of Mt. Hood. The first three are located in downtown Hood River, walking distance to two Oregon Bed and Breakfast Guild member inns....
- Hood River BnB - Located just three blocks from downtown. Enjoy Columbia River views from all rooms. This inn is just the perfect space to begin and end your day in Hood River
- Villa Columbia - The beauty of this lovingly restored 1911 home will take your breathe away. A villa is described as a large, luxurious house and the Villa Columbia is just that. The Great Room provides quiet warmth with a fireplace, plush sofas and well-appointed antiques.

Full Sail Brewery
Built in an abandoned cannery that had laid derelict for 15 years, Full Sail Brewing began brewing circa 1988. Employee owned since 1999, Full Sail recently received the Governor's Sustainability Award for Small Business and has three core brews along with a variety of seasonal and every changing small batch beers. They also host Brewmaster Dinners, featuring a four course dinner with a special beer pairing for each course.
Big Horse Ales Brew Pub - Horsefeathers Restaurant
The pub and restaurant are located in a old house on State Street in Hood River. Be prepared for a steep climb up to the third floor and be rewarded with incredible views of the Columbia River Gorge.
Elliot Glacier Public House
Located in the scenic Upper Hood River Valley about 15 minutes from the town of Hood River the Elliot Glacier Public House is known as the pub with the best view. Built in the historic Valley Theater building, the backyard beer garden offers a spectacular view of Mt. Hood and the Elliot Glacier. It happens to be right across the street and a few doors down from the Old Parkdale Inn.
So choose a Hood River Oregon Bed and Breakast Inn, designate a driver if need be and, with a bit o' luck, we'll see you come St. Patrick's Day in the Columbia River Gorge.
