Spent a few days in the Willamette Valley last week. What a lovely time to visit. So many shades of green everywhere. And then there's the acres and acres of bulbs in full bloom along with the cover crops of clover and mustard. It really was lovely drive along the backroads of the Willamette Valley.
I am a Geocacher so, of course, I stopped for a few finds on my way to Lobenhaus Bed and Breakfast just outside of Carlton, Oregon. Why drive the freeways when there are so many stunning back roads? I finally arrived at the B&B early afternoon and after checking in strolled around their acreage. The gardens and vineyards on their property are a treat, all created by the vision and hands of Joe, the owner/innkeeper. Dinner with Joe, Shari, his wife, and Karen from The Carlton Inn Bed and Breakfast. A fun group of Oregon Bed and Breakfast Guild innkeepers.
Heading home the next morning for a drive to our inn, the Old Parkdale Inn, should only take about 3 hours, that's if you drive the freeways and not break for caches! But again, who would want drive the freeways and not cache? The backroads are so much more beautiful. Let my photos tell the story.
