Here's a post from inn guests Barry & Kaye:
Another enjoyable stay at Bybee’s, our 6th visit. You’ll step back in history at this historic inn dating to 1857. It the perfect place to relax and get off the beaten track, while being a short distance to downtown Jacksonville. Charming Hostesses Tina Marie and Vikki Lynn make you feel very welcome and you’ll love the whole place. Tina’s gourmet breakfasts and other treats (the cookies are great!) are superb. You’ll surely come back again and again after your first visit!
Extended family travel is more common as grandparents have the time to take their grandchildren on vacation. Here's a story from a guest of Bybee's Historic Inn in Jacksonville Oregon about the great time he had with his granddaughter.
Have you stayed at an Oregon bed and breakfast lately? Tell us where you stayed, but more importantly what you did while you were there. Did you go for a hike? Take a bicycle ride? Visit a place of cultural significance? Perhaps enjoyed a little Oregon slow food? Tell us your story (and send us a photo too) and we'll enter you into a drawing for $100 in Oregon Bed and Breakfast Guild lodging gift vouchers so you can do more traveling around this great State! Just click on the "tell us your story" link at the right of this blog.
We stayed at Bybee’s Bed & Breakfast for 2 nights and they were very enjoyable! Gourmet breakfasts, beautiful grounds and very kind hosts…what more would you want? We stayed in the Americana room with its roomy king-size bed, watched a movie with our granddaughter and snuck out at midnight to see the solar-powered butterflies, hummingbirds and lighted bushes! Great historic mansion, plenty of room to roam around or sit down and enjoy the sitting rooms inside…or enjoy yourself out on the porch. We highly recommend you visit Tina Marie and Vikki just outside Jackonsville!

The Bybee House is a wonderful Bed and Breakfast, unsurpassed in my experience, which is considerable. Vikki and Tina are great hostesses. The rooms are in impeccable condition. The rates are reasonable, and it is obvious that most of the money goes back into this treasure. The mattresses are the best. It is a real treat to wake up without back pain. You will wake up not to a muffin, but to a wonderful gourmet breakfast. Take a look at the guest books in each room. Historic Jacksonville is a short distance, and itself filled with nice restaurants and cantinas. As for us, we will be back on the slightest excuse!

Thanks for taking the time to talk about our Oregon bed and breakfasts! Vivian shares her story about her authentic Oregon experience at Bybee's Historic Inn in Jacksonville, Oregon:
We spent 2 days at the Bybee Historic Inn a 1/2 mile outside Jacksonville, OR, and really enjoyed ourselves. It is well maintained, immaculate, and you feel welcome to use any of the rooms. DVDs, books, board games are available for free, too. The breakfasts were delicious and served on a large lovely back porch with relaxing music and fresh flowers each day. Our room was perfect and our bed very comfortable. We were able to see the other rooms and would have found any one to be great for us. We highly recommend this B&B.

Another story about one of our Oregon bed and breakfasts. This time about the
McKenzie River Inn B&B and Cabins situated along the McKenzie River near Vida, Oregon.
I loved it so much on my previous visit that I came back to the McKenzie River Inn and stayed again for a couple of days. I'm a regular traveler throughout the Pacific Northwest, and it's simply wonderful to catch my breath at this B&B, on the river, enjoying the fishing, the splendid views, the excellent breakfast, the clean comfortable rooms, and the pleasant service. Being an author, it's also a very good place to get new inspiration.

Innkeepers so appreciate it when our guests take the time to write a word or two about their stay. Thank you, Jaap!
"We stayed three nights in the Renaissance Room. Vikki and Tina made us feel like family. Amazing breakfasts!"

We love it when guests take the time to write about the Oregon Bed and breakfasts they've visited. A few nights at
Bybee's Historic Inn in Jacksonville, Oregon (not far from Ashland Oregon lodging) and they're feeling like family. Thank you so much!
I had been to Hood River on business but wanting to bring my husband. We stayed at the
Old Parkdale Inn and had a wonderful experience. Mary the Innkeeper was engaging and so welcoming. The Inn itself was just what we were looking for to relax and use as a basecamp for visiting the sites in the area. Unfortunately, we could only stay for two nights but next time will stay for at least four, there was so much to see and do. Mary's breakfast were a real treat and she gave each of the couples fresh apple butter she had made while we were there. All the couples made reservations for the
Hood River Dinner train and it was a fun experience.

We stayed at the "Lonesome Duck" in mid-August 2010 based on a recommendation from an Oregon fly fishing guide service. The accommodations, breakfast, guide, fishing, and most of all the owners made the trip a memorable. trip. We were welcomed to their house and did not feel like outsiders. In addition to the house, there are two, new log cabins that are better than any fishing place I have stayed in. The use of kayaks, and row boats are just that, useful, because the river, adjacent to the house and cabins, is slow moving allowing almost anyone to move up and down the river with ease. The big fish, and I mean big fish, are plentiful. I learned a lot from the guide, who only guides on the Williamson River and works directly for 'Lonesome Duck". I highly recommend "Lonesome Duck" as a great get away whether you want to fish or just relax. Earl DuBack Brentford-Derwick Ledgyard, Ct

My son and I came for a two-night stay to attend a wedding at the Old Miller Farm, right down the road from this enchanting B&B. The setting could not have been more perfect, with the background of the glorious and grand Mt. Hood presiding over us, the movement of the sun helping him change his colors and mood throughout the day, each one more beautiful and intriguing as the next. To my delight, I discovered THE SWING on the porch of the B&B and was immediately wisked back to my childhood on my grandparent's porch, where the only care in the world was wondering when the blueberry buckle would be ready to eat! It was so peaceful and relaxing I found myself asleep on the swing within minutes, drool hanging from my lips-whether it was from sleep or from anticipation of the upcoming treat, I am not sure :-). If anyone needs a break from the stress of life and wants a physical or mental recharge, come stay at an Inn in the Mt. Hood area. My recommendation is the Old Parkdale Inn-those two days felt like a week long stress free vacation! Thank you, Mary (the owner)for providing such a wonderful memory.

The Bronze Antler in Joseph, Oregon is a wonderful place to stay if you should be visiting the Lake Wallowa region. Bill and Heather are very attentive hosts (also Madagan) and you are left wanting for nothing. The inn was beautiful and our breakfast superb. We would definitely stay with them again if in the area.
